Date du début: 1 févr. 2015,
Date de fin: 31 juil. 2015
PROJET
TERMINÉ
The project “Say YES to non-formal in schools!” brings together 30 students and teachers from four different countries – Estonia and Latvia, Georgia and Armenia – with a common idea to bring non-formal learning methods to schools in order to make the study more interesting. We will join together for international seminar in Kobuleti, Georgia, from 1st to 7th June 2015. During the seminar, based on non-formal learning principles and approaches, we aim to fix connections between students and teachers, to step out of our strict roles of formal education and find individuality and creativity in each other behind the roles of teachers and students; to open a wide and rich word of non-formal learning and to make both teachers and students more interested in learning using non-formal methods of education. All in all, we expect it will help everyone to find higher motivation to come to school.
During the seminar experienced in non-formal education youngsters will share their practices with less experienced youngsters and teachers and evaluate the results of participation in non-formal education. With the help of simulations, games, team-works and discussions we will pay attention on learning process and students’ and teachers’ roles in it in schools, discuss and plan different ways of implementing non-formal learning methods in schools and agree on future cooperation steps. Evaluation and reflection will be one of the most important parts of the project.
We expect that all the participating students and teachers will find non-formal learning meaningful, will understand its main approaches and use them in the future life as a useful tool for learning and teaching. The main impact should continue at partnering schools: using non-formal methods in everyday school life, in classes as a way of learning and teaching students and getting better familiarized with them. It will be much more interesting for teachers and for students to attend school as they know that every day they will do something new and unusual. Owning non-formal methods of learning will provide more relaxed but creative atmosphere in the class that will make communication easier and learning more self-directed. Participants of the project will become more active and braver in everyday life too, as they have already gone through the challenge of being in society outside their home towns.
Participation in non-formal learning activity will open a world and help to feel the life. It develops creative and critical thinking, makes students and teachers more open and free to communicate, and makes them more collaborative in the real life as well. Key competences developed with the help of non-formal learning will be very useful in everyday life, especially as participants will be aware about them and notice every opportunity to learn something new.
