The Siegfried Drupp primary school with 192 pupils located on the northeastern outskirts of Dortmund. Dortmund is one of the cities of the Ruhr area, which has managed the structural transformation of the coal industry to the site for other industries such as data centers, cultural industries, etc.. The district Dortmund-Scharnhorst in which the school is located is classified as "district with special needs renovation"and is supported by the program "Social City". Approximately 70% of families receive Hartz IV or receive other benefits (eg housing benefits, etc.).Since 2009, the Siegfried-Drupp Elementary School is certified as an European primary school. Our school combines 21 nations and the children speak 16 other languages. Approximately 75% of children have a European (Poland, Italy, Turkey, etc.) or non-European immigrant background (Iraq, Congo, Morocco, Afghanistan, etc.). Our partner schools in the last two Comenius projects (2010-2012: "Cuculus-together into the future", 2013-2015: "Living together - the place of diversity") are in Marseille, Istanbul, Amsterdam. In each country 32 children were traveling from four countries and formed an international school class for one week . Furthermore, we have the project of a school partnership in Kinshasa / Congo with the City Manager of the City of Dortmund, Mr Stüdemann. The "Living in diversity" has in our school a top priority, and everything can be deduced from there: So for example, refugees with little knowledge of German find diverse support on their way to school by dedicated children and teachers. Children with special educational needs and without special needs should be promoted individually, so that a common learning at eye level with tolerance and cooperation is possible. It allows our school development currently focuses on:1. We in europe as a part of the world (Comenius, French, English, school partnerships, extracurricular instructors, Europe events, trainings, life in diversity, intercultural / transcultural competence)2. Communication by perception (learning time, Bensberger mediation model, social skills training, systemic lessons development, tolerance training)3. Art and culture as a way to education (cultural events, Cookbook of families "We feast on the world", exhibitions, projects with extracurricular partners such artour projects eV, "Talenziale" development the potential, in cooperation with the initiative "Dortmunder Talent", the Youth Welfare Office Dortmund and School Administration Office, promotion of self-confidence, the presence, the appreciation and the experience their own limits).Teachers (10), special education (1), educators (8), and the head teacher and the head of the open allday are the project participants.The mixture of this team will contribute to the success of the proposed project.The following objectives are important for the development of our school:- Understanding the heterogeneity of our students as a resource and to achieve an improvement of individual support,- The inclusion implement in our daily school life,- Social tensions that work into our daily school life to counter in a way that a peaceful learning environment can be guaranteed,- To Improve the cooperation within the college incl. the non-teaching staff in the all-day area.Under this objective, we want meet schools and classes in European countries, that have taken innovative steps in our view.We expect from the participation of the members of our quorum impulses and suggestions, which we can use for the development of our school. When the project started we will develop targets for the main activities and the criteria and procedures for the selection of participants in the training courses on the basis of an analysis in the entire College.The participation in training in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Northern Ireland and Italy / South Tyrol is preceded by an intensive preparation for the selected participants. Following each training the evaluations of the participants are reflected in the College and implemented valuable suggestions in measures for our school development. The project will be completed with an overall evaluation and a plan for disseminating the results. In the long term, we expect a significantly improve our work in the above-mentioned target areas.
