The project ”Say it out loud” arose as a result of the partners’ awareness for the need of young people to see the importance of public speaking skills, and to express themselves freely. This is a youth exchange program funded by the European Commission, through Erasmus +. It will take place in Bucharest from 21 to 30 October 2016 and will cover a period of months (1 July to 31 December). During the exchange, the participants will be able to practice public speaking and develop their skills from a personal and professional standpoint. The project will be implemented with 24 participants, 6 of each country (5 participants + 1 group leader) and has as main objective to develop the skills of young people to speak in public, helping them to express themselves freely and to increase their confidence self.Towards this goal, after we created the problem tree, we have set the following objectives:Ob1. At the end of the project, participants will improve their knowledge regarding the importance of public speaking, the types of comunication (verbal, non-verbal and paraverbal) and they will be aware about the differences and similarities regarding the way that people comunicate. Ob2. At the end of six months of activities, participants will be more confident when speaking in public, will be more self-confident, they will develop an inclusive atttitude towards people with fewer oportunities and they will inprove their ability to listen to each other and understand the opinions of the others. OB3. By the end of the project, participants will develop their public speaking skills and will be able to use non-verbal communication, they will learn how to communicate assertively with the people around. All activities within those ten days but also the dissemination activities will help participants to achieve these goals. They were planned to answer the needs and wishes of young people. Ever since the project was just an idea, we tried to involve young people from partner organizations as much as possible in all aspects of this project, training, writing, implementation, evaluation and dissemination. Participants who have already been selected have helped us in developing this project so far and we want to keep them as involved as they are. Also, we will involve not only the actual activities of Bușteni and the dissemination and evaluation of results. The project proposes formal methods such as energizers, name games, teambuilding, role play aimed at creating a team atmosphere in which learning can take place easily. Next we have workshops dedicated to different types of communication, and resources and tips on public speaking. The visits of highschool and city center will give participants the opportunity to practice public speaking, to gain more confidence in themselves, and promote the opportunities offered by Erasmus + and other young people.Activities will impact participants, developing their public speaking skills, self-confidence, and team-work ability, importance of public speaking and how it can be useful in their own development. We expect long-term participants to be more open to participation in international projects, to be more confident in themselves and face the fear of speaking in public.
