SAY IT BRITISH 1 (SAYBRIT 1)
Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The "Landesberufsschule Eibiswald" is a compulsory vocational school for electrical engineering, electric machine engineering, mechatronics and information technology. There are about 1700 apprentices a school year and they are taught by 48 teachers. In addition to job-related technical subjects the students also learn general subjects (Communication, Foreign Language English, Corresponding and Accounting, Political Education). The deepening of the language skills of the English teacher is currently limited to some national workshops and there is missing the possibility of practical training. It is very difficult to improve your competences in a foreign language, especially in listening and oral skills in a German-speaking country. With this activity two teachers of the vocational school Eibiswald get the possibility to attend an "Intensive English Course" and a "Creative Methodology Course" at the "Oxford House College" in London. Each course lasts 60 hours over a period of two weeks. By doing this they are given the opportunity to increase their expertise in the development and evaluation of vocational skills significantly and especially enhance and apply their language skills during their stay. For the future, we have set ourselves the objective of perform at least one project for our colleagues in English language training every year.Because of the possibility of international rankings there is given a matching or balancing of the educational standards. By gaining new experiences abroad we lead to a higher motivation improving the own capabilities, will widen the personal view of language competences. We expect that this project will be a starting point for many other activities like this at our educational institution! With great enthusiasm, we are already working on ideas for the implementation of other projects for English teachers at the vocational school, e.g. CLIL.Globalization is going on and on and foresight we want to sensitise and strengthen the capability for empathy of each participant with comprehensive socio-cultural contents by implementation of such or similar projects. At the moment our society is still thinking in individualism. The actual and future tasks in a field of immigration and xenophobia force the changing of the view from individual to a community to work and live together. All these activities will lead to a better mutual understanding and in a better way of interacting. With the language training and further education we will proceed to a better capability for empathy towards foreign nations (as mentioned above) and therefore also to preserve the general peace.
