International youth exchange project "Midsummer holiday in Different European Countries, the traditions and the Manner of thepast and contemporaneity” took place in Līvāni district, Rožupe, during the period from 19.06.2015 – 25.06.2015.In project participated 6 leaders and 23 young people aged between 13-18 years, a total of 29 participants. The project participants were from Latvia, Lithuania and Bulgaria.The project objective was - Enable young people through the traditions of the different European countries celebrated the common holiday - Midsummer, as well as to enable them to get to know the tradition - as ever celebrated the holidays and tocompare how it is doing now.Objectives of the project were – To teach young people to take the initiative rather than stand aside; Creating the opportunity for young people to communicate with youth from other countries, share their impressions, to find out how these holidays celebrateLatvians and Lithuanians, and what kinds of similar festivāls are in Bulgaria; Find common or different this festive celebration of tradition and contemporary celebration habits.Young people had the opportunity to have a look at Latgale, because the project activities took place in various towns of Latgale.We visited Aglona bread museum where young people had the opportunity to bake bread, pies, as well as to learn to make Midsummer cheese. Young people visited Aglona Basilica and got acquainted with the cultural and historical buildings andtraditions of believers. We visited Livani craft museum where got acquainted with the ancient tools of Līvāni glass, as well as by boat learning, skills to take care of each other, to forge closer bonds of friendship, teamwork. In Sutri together with the locals we celebrated midsummer evening, where our young people showed and shared their knowledge of the Midsummer celebration traditions.It was used in the non-formal education of youth in consolidating methods (group work, "Ice breaking" contacts through play and music), and the distribution group. The result was the young people's desire to build a variety of projects with partners in othercountries, to build their everyday environment and go out of social risk (economic risk, social risk).
