A joint project of the Pilsen Region, Zoological and botanical gardens of Pilsen and colleagues from the group for cross-LBV is focused on conservation and research corncrake (Crex crex). Its aim is satellite telemetry in male corncrake. Joint Czech - German team of experts consisting of ornithologists and expert in satellite technology applied for a grant funded by the INTERREG IV - Objective 3 Czech Republic - Free State of Bavaria 2007-2013.The project itself was based on long-term research of its kind in the Czech Republic and Germany, and has clarified a number of issues of fundamental biology of the species and help protect nesting and wintering corncrake. Due to the biology of this species can not be any other method to obtain the necessary data. This is the first satellite telemetry project of its kind in Europe, which experts attribute great importance. The project is based on the capture of the corncrake in the border areas of West Bohemia, Bavaria, if necessary. Upper Palatinate, installation of satellite transmitters and watching the birds wintering habitats but also in Africa. Subsequent evaluation of the results for use in common territorial protection and subsidy policies of individual countries.
