Sağlık İçin Harekete Geçin
Date du début: 31 déc. 2015, Date de fin: 30 déc. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In its 2011-2012 report including financial, environmental and social statistics, Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) states that the increase in the rate of over-weight and obesity is one of the most serious public health concerns. While reminding that obesity makes the risk factor for a wide range of diseases such as hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, heart diseases, asthma, and musculoskeletal disorders, including some type of cancer, it points out that some of the factors causing obesity are excessive use of alcohol, little physical activity, genetic predisposition and endocrine diseases. Turkey’s rate of obesity is 15.2 and under OECD average, which is 16.9. According to this report, Estonia, our partner country in the project, has 20.2 rate of obesity. We want our school staff to develop themselves through the projects we carry out in our school and to share the knowledge and experiences they gain in ‘fight against obesity and raising healthy individuals’ with our host partner, expanding its sphere of influence. Within the project, 4 teachers and 1 administrator will be assigned in 14–day trainings. Our young and dynamic team, whose level of interest in this subject is quite high, have developed themselves in terms of language proficiency. We intend to provide education in Estonia Talınna Vormsı Lasteaed nursery school with regard to the program we have prepared about subjects such as healthy diet, introducing healthy foods, activities for the students in risk group, activities for parents, physical education, the effects of doing activities in early childhood on adult life, and benefits of traditional practices to health. Through those activities, we will firstly test ourselves in terms of the effects of practices used in our school. Then, we will ensure that our studies receive attention at international level and that the importance of early childhood education is re-considered. We will help both schools’ staff to understand the importance of cultural differences and traditional practices in the development of healthy individuals. The contribution of EU grant projects to the policy of ‘dissemination of early school education’, involved in the strategical objectives of Europe and Turkey, cannot be argued. Within this project, the results of which we will share in our city, we aim at increasing awareness level in society about the importance of early school education by changing the attitudes towards pre-school institutions among executives, parents and public through model activities carried out by our school. In addition, our team’s motivation to take charge in dissemination and other projects will increase as they voluntarily worked non-stop in their busy schedule to prepare the project.
