Date du début: 15 juil. 2010,

: The Erasmus Mundus Mobility with Asia - West (EMMA-West) programme consists of 122 individual mobility flows which will start mainly by September 2011. The main activities are: Dissemination of information on the programme in order to attract, among students, researchers and academic staff, as many good candidates as possible. Disabled or economically disadvantaged people will benefit from special care. Set up of a list of Bilateral Mobility Projects/Profile, that will be published on the website, and that will help to concentrate the mobility demands towards training needs of the Asian partners that can be met by existing courses or research in the European partners. All the application and selection process will be online, with individual accesses to the Emma Data Base. The final ranking will be done by the Board of Directors, on the basis of the double online rating by the sending and the hosting Local Organisation Bureaux. The selection process will end in March 2011 with a list of people that will benefit from one semester, or one, two or three years of study abroad for students, six months for post-docs, and one month abroad for university staff. Attention will be given to equal opportunity and gender balance. Adjusting the demand and supply will help the universities involved on both sides to improve their educational programmes, research activities and international cooperation capacity. A first meeting in Asia in September 2010 of all partner universities will be the occasion to share the principles of the ECTS as a credit accumulation and transfer system and the recognition of study periods abroad. A second meeting in Europe in October 2011 will provide the occasion to discuss how to improve the academic quality through the feedback received from the first beneficiaries and how to develop sustainable exchanges between the partners after the end of the programme.
