S1-L08 Erasmus Mundus European Mobility with Neighbouring ReGion in the East: Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus
Date du début: 15 juil. 2011,

The object of this project is two-fold: 1. European cooperation development towards the extended EHEA, integrating: - the sharing the European values and the common cultural heritage; - the preservation and promotion of institutional, national and regional specificity in Higher Education; 2. transfer of good practice and deepened implementation of the Bologna process in Lot 8 institutions / countries; Brief description: In order to reach this objective, a consortium has been set up. The consortium covers a diversity of countries, regions and types of institutions. The following needs have been identified: • centering the educational activity on the student; • developing a more flexible approach in designing curricula and syllabi; • acquiring more good practice in teaching, learning and evaluation methods; • fully eliminating obstacles to academic mobility. In order to address these needs, 277 mobilities are proposed to take place within this project, for undergraduate, master, doctoral and post-doctoral students, as well as for academic and administrative staff. All the thematic fields are covered in both directions, complying with the fields of interest and mobility numbers accepted and agreed upon by each partner university, as well as with the mobility number specified by the program for countries of Lot 8. All the activities of the project will be designed, implemented and monitored in a quality assurance based manner. Specific quality assurance elements will be implemented by the project: documents (student mobility agreement, learning agreement, report forms, feed back questionnaires to be filled in by each mobile student and staff, mobility reports), specific evaluation indicators (number of mobilities, average number mobility ECTS credits obtained / recognised, number of candidates per institution / country / field of study / cycle for the selection process, etc.). The monitoring process will be carried out by the Management Team through reports provided every three months by the Executive Committee and semestrial reports from each partner university. The visibility strategy will have two main directions: • visibility of the project; • visibility of each partner involved in the project. Dissemination means will include the project website, brochures, leaflets, media reports. Sustainability of the project will be supported by the high-level human resources provided by each partner, by the impact of each Lot 8 partner in the corresponding country and by the involvement of the associate partners. Regarding academic cooperation with Lot 8 countries, a particular concern could be the possibility of brain drain effects; this project will take steps to avoid such side effects. Each visiting student will be temporarily registered and, on an LLP-Erasmus-like basis, will have to return to her/his home institution in order to graduate (academic recognition included) and obtain the respective diploma. Besides the project’s own content, future joint educational and research projects will be taken into consideration during this project’s lifetime, in order to contribute to achieving an excellence level in each Lot 8 participating institution, so that academic staff and graduates from those institutions will find it professionally rewarding to continue their activity locally. The project and all participating institutions are committed to highest standards in providing equal opportunities and avoid any discrimination, be it gender, disability, religion, ethnic, or social. In order to achieve that, the only selection criteria for all mobilities will be those reflecting the academic merit of the candidate. Each participating institution provides access for disabled persons and support for persons with visual or auditive impairments. The level of financial support through individual grants will avoid discrimination related to the financial status of (the family o ...
