S'OUVRIR SUR L'EUROPE DANS LE SECTEUR TERTIAIRE

The lycée Colbert is a vocational school which educates 300 students each year in Services and Sales. The students often come from families in financial, social or cultural difficulties. The certificates that we prepare the students for are the “Baccalaureat Professionnel” (level IV certificate – 3-year course) and the “Certificat d’aptitude professionnelle” (level V certificate – 2-year course). We also prepare 40 students in alternating training for the "Brevet de Technicien Supérieur" (2 year course after the Baccalauréat / equivalent of the english Higher National Diploma).The project's objectives are to promote professional mobility, develop professional skills, improve fluency in English and Spanish and increase European cultural openess by this first experience of internship abroad. Each student discovers an opening into European citizenship while respecting some new traditions and habits different from the French ones.The establishment has been developing European mobility projects for the students for almost 20 years and many members of the staff ( managing staffand lecturers) are involved in organizing the project each year. The 2016 project will be based on a project management which integrates regularly meetings of the steering committee. The lycée has been thinking on a magement of the internships more and more efficient on the students. The financial support from Erasmus+ contributes to a good quality, well-structured training helping them to have a new opened ideas of Europe and its citizens. Improve the linguistic and vocational skills give a best understanding of the Other and it opens the field of vocational employability which helps to trust in the future. This year, the students from Training, Sales, Management and Administration and Reception and Customer Relations will be involved and the two european destinations for the students will be Ireland and Spain. Our mobility project for 2016 involves 32 students who are preparing a professional degree "Baccalauréat professionnel" (level IV) in our vocational school. In 2017,10 students from our "Management and Administration" as well as "Reception and Customer Relations" final year will go in Ireland (Dublin) from the beginning of March to the beginning of April. From the beginning of June to the beginning of July, 12 students from our "Sales and Trading" second year class will go to Spain.In 2018, 10 students from our "Management and Administration" as well as "Reception and Customer Relations" final year will go to Ireland in March and April 2018.Students will be selected based on motivation, involment and merit. Any financial difficulties that the families are in will be noted in order to help them as much as possible. The budget is established taking into account Erasmus funding and an eventual financial grant from the Region Ile de France. The activities: Before the internship in both countries, students will prepare their stay with the help of their teachers according to their official training references. The students will travel to Dublin in Ireland to conduct an internship for a period of four weeks in March 2017 (" Management & Administration" and "Reception and Customer Relations" or Estepona in Spain to conduct an internship for a period of 3 weeks in June/July 2017 ("Commerce" and "Sales" students). The same internship will be conducted in Ireland for 10 students from our "management and Adminstration" as well as" Reception and Customer Relations" final year in March 2018.During this period, students will be staying with host families and will be taken care of service partner, chosen by our vocational school with specific objectives. The lecturers will supervise our students during their internship.Two teachers will accompany the students, some of whom are minors, at the beginning of the stay to implement the internship and in order to assist them in the discovery of the country. A lot of students being minors, two other teachers will come from France at the end of the stay to conduct the internship evaluation and accompany them to France. This internship will count for the continuous evaluation of the examination of students and will enable them to obtain a european reference when they will pass their Baccalaureate (“Reception and Customer Relations" and “Management and Administration” Baccalaureat). All students will also be able to get a Europass.The students will also be able to pass the mobility optional test part of the baccalaureat (the first part of the test will take place during the mobility). Long terms expected effects on participants are: develop perspectives with regard to international internships, increase levels of success in exam, develop access to further education, develop employability related to key skills and aptitudes developed during the project (autonomy, adaptability, ...)The project is also very positive for our school.
