The project: “Teachers’ Development Guarantees The Quality Of School Performance In United Europe’ will take 24 months. The primary objective of our school is maintaining its high academic standards and constant upgrading of its teaching staff’s qualifications and competencies. The realisation of the project will contribute significantly to the enhancement of the school’s functioning, in order to satisfy students’ educational and pro-European upbringing needs even more effectively. The participation of the teachers of our school in this project will boost their motivation and job satisfaction. Furthermore, it will favourably influence their professional and personal development. The current trend towards multilingualism and emphasis on communication in an international environment, imposes particularly high demands on foreign language teachers. Teacher training courses in methodology, language or culture , as well as those taking advantage of new information technologies ICT, are essential due to the fact that thanks to them, foreign language teachers will gain knowledge and skills enabling them to meet those demands. They will also improve their teaching skills as a result of observing lessons conducted by their European counterparts. Moreover, foreign trips will be an opportunity to share teaching experiences and begin inter-school cooperation, whose beneficiaries will be students and teachers. The additional merit will be a chance to compare systems of education and becoming acquainted with teaching standards in other schools . Since developing our students’ language skills is a priority for our school, a group of its non-language teachers has decided to participate in a training course called CLIL with a view to acquiring knowledge regarding the introduction of a foreign language on their subject lessons (biology and physical education).It will be helpful for students wishing to apply to overseas universities, because they will have a wider range of professional vocabulary relevant to their area of study. The course for historians will provide information and means to work with young people on the topic of national and European heritage. Our activity is oriented towards developing a sense of belonging to European school community in both teachers and students. Thanks to it, in future, they will not experience inferiority complex typical of people from the provinces. Instead of it, they will feel like rightful citizens of Europe, who appreciate the value of multiculturalism, tolerance and openness to a multicultural community. The realisation of this project aims at encouraging students to mobility and taking advantage of the opportunities which European funds and Erasmus Plus create. We wish to set a good example regarding the idea of ‘lifelong learning’. 9 teachers will take part in the programme: 4 English teachers, 2 French teachers, 1 biology teacher, 1 PE teacher and 1 history teacher. They will take part in 9 courses abroad in 4 European countries. They courses will take from 6 to 14 days. The following methods will be used in the project: SWOT analysis, goal analysis, stakeholders' analysis and analysis of project documentation.
