Roma Identity=Europe Identity
Date du début: 20 déc. 2013,

Europe today is characterised by a mixture of cultures, religions, traditions and languages. An ever deeper regional cooperation, strives to contribute to the emergence of a community of values. One of the founding principles of the European Union is respect for its diversity. The upheavals of European history show the importance of protecting national minorities and allowing different religious, cultural, linguistic and ethnic identities to flourish. There are 10-12 million Roma in Europe. Many face prejudice, intolerance, discrimination and social exclusion in their daily lives. They are marginalised and live in very poor conditions. Relatively little attention has been paid to understanding of Roma culture within wider societies and for creating conditions for direct encounters and trust building between Roma and Non Roma in the context of cultural activities. Cultural understanding is however prconditions for effective inclusion. The project will contribute to the trust-building of Roma people and for the public to a better understanding of Roma culture and heritage which are pre-conditions for effective and sustainable inclusion. Roma culture and heritage represent an important development potential for Roma communities that so far have not been sufficiently exploited. This YE is going to gather 45 leaders and participants,Roma and Non-Roma from different countries(France,Spain,Turkey,Croatia,Albania,Serbia,B&H and Macedonia) to discuss and exchange their own identity,a history, achievements, end to develop a sense of pride regarding their heritage. The YE will give the opportunity to the participants (Roma and Non-Roma) to experience the Roma culture in different countries and the opportunity to gain an understanding of Roma roots. Participants will use different creative methods: music, dance, flash mob, theater, street animation etc. and will explore and promote the Roma culture. The public event will happen on 8th of April –the International Roma day
