RKMnet - Réseau Européen pour la Gestion des Connaissances au niveau régional (RKMnet)

RKMnet encourages regional and interregional development based on technology, innovation and knowledge. RKMnet uses innovative instruments to create the network, and fosters activities to help each region move quicker towards a knowledge based economy. This objective was established during the Lisbon European Summit. RKMnet acts to incite public powers to take advantage of the possibilities offered by Knowledge Management for the development of local, regional and interregional domains. The project implements a methodology based on participation to add value to cooperation and information. Overall objective / Objectif général RKMnet has succeeded in establishing a sustainable network for Knowledge Management in the areas of Science, Technology and Regional Innovation, and in creating areas which can produce permanent intraregional and interregional learning processes. The main innovation lies in the fact that Knowledge Management is the central theme of the operation, since it has an increasing impact on economic growth and can lead to structural changes. Expected results / Résultats attendus RKMnet´s partners work in the right direction in order to make the most of cooperation activities, which mainly aim to exchange experiences and knowledge in a structured way. Such activities are developed in close collaboration with regional governments. Par tners assure a consolidated network, contribution to sustainable regional development and added value to regional policy by creating a multilingual web portal, a database for knowledge management at regional level, monographies describing the main characteristics of each region´s knowledge of science, technology and innovation, training sessions and regional and interregional events where the network has allowed best practices to be implemented.
