Project summary"Rimini as a prospect of achievement in the work of aspiring young catering specialists from Zespół Szkół nr 1 in Liskow" is the title of the project which Zespół Szkół Nr1 w Liskow aims to pursue in tandem with its partner- Sistema Turismo in Rimini, Italy. The main objectives of the undertaking include: to provide support for our students in acquiring knowledge, qualifications and skills necessary for their personal development, to boost their employment opportunities and encourage their presence on the local and regional job market. More specifically, the project aims to increase the appeal of vocational training as a catering specialist by raising the quality of the training per se, to enable the project participants to acquire additional skills and to raise the students' professional competence in foreign language while promoting their cultural awareness by experiencing the culture, customs and lifestyles in the partner country. As our students' future has always been our main concern, we would like to afford them the opportunity to train in modern facilities which boast solutions and technologies of a truly high European standard. Mostly out of keeping with the European standards, the training facilities in our region offer very limited chances for development and thus we would like to make sure that our students are able to acquire their professional skills during their foreign placements effected by this project. The project proposes that a four-week session of vocational training be held in February 2017 for a group of sixteen students supervised by two teachers. The course of the training is in compliance with the vocational training curriculum and will be pursued in partner-appointed facilities providing catering services. The placement will be preceded by a language course featuring colloquial everyday utterances cum job-specific expressions in English, tutor-conducted classes as well as a series of lessons in Italian culture- all aiming to psych the students up for the professional and cultural challenges during their stay. Since the placement will make the first-ever occasion for living away from their families for most of the students, we would like to make sure that they have been thoroughly prepared so they can make the most of their stay on all counts. Training abroad addresses the needs of the changing job market while creating an opening for students' creative development and acquisition of specific knowledge and skills. The participants to the project will be given a chance to get acquanited with new standards of products and services. By pursuing their training abroad they will also improve their skills in a foreign language and hence become more competitive, professionally mobile and motivated for further study. We also hope that their independence during the placements will enhance their confidence, their openness to the unknown, responsibility and interpersonal skills. We are also sure that the trainings will prepare the youths to better comprehend the future behind the occupation of their choice. Following their return, the students will launch a website presenting their placement and share with the public their freshly gained knowledge and tips on the standards and places of training. Also, student-made Italian dishes will be served. We hope that the solutions presented by students will be gladly adopted by the local business and that the remaining schools of the region will warm to the idea of organising professional trainings abroad. We ourselves will also tap into our students' experiences, thus striving to enrich vocational training in our school with new standards- including the knowledge being conveyed- and in the effect, boost the quality of the schooling process.
