Human rights and social dialogue are part of our day-to-day life. But a lot of young people in Europe take them for granted. Human rights are fundamental for our lives. Yet, we are reminded way too often that the reality is not perfect. Take the recent news from the Mediterranean Sea and the boats full of migrants. They are risking their lives to start a new life in a democratic country, where human rights are existing. Human rights will gain more attention in Europe because this is going to be a long-term battle about how to make human rights accessible to everyone. We think that the time is now to act and to build a high quality youth projects in a long-term period.This training course promotes and supports the role of youth workers, trainers, activists and volunteers in awareness-building activities that contribute to living together in dignity and dialogue through a network of specifically trained participants, who strengthen the presence and promote the basic values of human rights. The project is based on human rights, intercultural and social dialogue, youth participation and democratic citizenship processes in Europe. Young people are active citizens and protagonists of social change and therefore, we need to reflect this also while working with those who work with young people. That is the reason why we chose a training course as the type of this project. This project meets several priorities and objectives of the Erasmus+ programme (e.g. foster quality improvements in youth work, in particular through enhanced cooperation between organisations in the youth field and/or other stakeholders)Objectives of our project are several: • To explore and broaden participants knowledge and competences in human rights, social dialogue and intercultural dialogue; • To bring together youth workers, trainers, volunteers and motivated young people from different countries • To strengthen the role of youth organisations in identifying and speaking up against human rights violations, including discrimination, hate speech and those human rights violations affecting especially young people and children;• To develop competences of participants in drawing up training activities and coach systems for peer educators in human rights issues; • To familiarize the participants with the approaches of the manual on human rights education and on how best to use it and adapt it to local contexts and realities• To give deepen knowledge and competences in working with groups and training methodologies in respect to peer education and human rights issues• To promote democracy, development, social justice, communal harmony, solidarity and friendship among people and nations • To prepare a final product from this project and disseminate it on local, regional, national and international level - probably in the form of a newsletter or a video• To encourage participants to act as multiplies and prepare their own activities in the follow-up stage.
