PROJET
TERMINÉ
Nowadays, foreign languages have a prominent role among the skills that will help people prepare better for the labour market and make the most of available opportunities.
Our secondary school has a high rate of absenteeism and school failure. Therefore, this project is a contribution to improve some basic and transversal skills in our students. It could motivate young people, particularly those at risk of early school leaving and with low basic skills.
Moreover, this project promotes some improvement actions, like enhancing environmental and health education in English using ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), or the creation of a school online magazine.
OBJECTIVES:
• To motivate collaboration between departments.
• To make learning easier.
• To show our secondary school and its activities to the society.
• To promote cultural activities.
• To develop basic and transversal skills, such as digital skills and multilingualism in all fields of education and training, using Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) uptaken in teaching and learning.
• To enhance health and environmental education.
• To promote stronger relationships between different international secondary schools.

In the same way, we have updated the website of our secondary school and we have created an online magazine for our secondary school, where there are different multilingual sections: latest news (prizes, meetings,…), environmental education, health education,...
This online magazine shows our secondary school to the society, and it is a tool for motivating our students with different activities. Besides, there is a paper summary of the magazine printed every year.
Furthermore, we have had the opportunity to have new tools for improving our teaching and skills with this project since eight teachers were chosen to take part in different courses related to science education (health and environmental education), English language, new technologies,...
There was a selection committee to choose the participants of these mobilities between the staff. This selection committee was formed by one member of the management team and two teachers, and the criteria were the quality and relevance of the activities planned by every staff member to the needs of the school, the motivation, clear goals for the mobility and the tools to share the experience upon return.
Moreover, the participants shared the experience in meetings at school, in the online magazine, and in social networks. Besides, showing workshops to institutions and teachers from our city,
Despite not having any associate we have stablished relationships by eTwinning with international secondary schools to develop a common methodology that will improve our project.
Finally, this project will carry on with environmental and health committees as well as the online magazine. There is also the wish to continue it with strategic partnerships in the near future, because it will provide more opportunities for our students.
