With the theme “Together for a better education of sick children and adolescents. Preparing pedagogues to work in a multidisciplinary team in hospitals”, teachers who work in hospital schools, have been invited to this Congress. This congress will focus on improving outcomes for children and youngsters with chronic and serious illnesses The main objective is bringing together the efforts and skills of these children and youngsters , their families, teachers and health professionals during cognitive, emotional and personal development processes. Focusing on continuity of education and the social/emotional impacts for children and youngsters with serious illness this congress will provide information based on the latest concerns, research, challenges and strategies to improve educational programs and interventions for children, families and practitioners in education. We actually don´t know the number of participants, it depends on the an application,. Project managers, health professionals, educators, learners, play or art therapists, practitioners or volunteers around Europe and around the world are invited to participate in sessions and workshops in the field of education Topics to develop: - Hospital School and the Education Law in different countries; - Continuing training (national/international) for hospital pedagogues; - The best strategies in working with children/adolescents with different diseases; - Involving the family as “partner” in the educational process of sick children; - Ensuring continuity in the education of children with somatic and mental diseases; - NGOs and the support for disadvantages families; - Occupational therapy and art-therapy for sick pupils and their families; - “Back to school!” How to make the transition easier?; - Vocational and professional counseling. We will be able to see the results after the congress-. When we come back, we expect to provide a great deal of ideas and new ways of working and sharing experiences that foster all collegues in hospital schools with the intention of improving our educational practice. We will use TICs , social nets, our magacine and meetings to spread the outcomes around the rest of the collegues.
