Rethinking the Classroom: Active and Engaged Learning and Teaching

Our Erasmus Plus KA2 job shadowing project is called "Rethinking the Classroom: Active and Engaged Learning and Teaching". Within this framework, the school to visit and make observations is located in Check Republic, Prague Province named Obchodní akademie Neveklov and from Erünal Sosal Bilimler Lisesi located in Antalya / Turkey, German Teacher Şule YAZAR and English Teacher Ayşe Gül ÖZTÜRK will participate in said job shadowing activities. In both of the schools, The target groups are the students and the institutions. Ayşe Gül ÖZTÜRK from Erünal Sosal Bilimler Lisesi is experienced in EU projects. However; for the fact that she has never participated in such training activities so far, she has no knowledge of which methods are used by her colleagues in Europe in English language teaching. German Teacher Şule YAZAR on the other hand has never participated in previous EU projecbecause communication language in those projects was English. Conducting job shadowing activities in German Language Teaching will be a milestone both her, and her student and her institution. Both of the teachers are highly motivated and agree that this mobility will act as an opportunity of EU project partnerships which was aimed by their institution as a traditional activity. The project aims to: _ promote professional development of English and German teachers in education. - innovate and improve educational techniques. - enable teachers of English and German to observe how foreign languages are taught in the Check Republic. - making a step in internationalisation (becoming a European Citizen) b making professional international connections - enlarge the school's capacity in the international dimension and thus meeting the disadvantaged students' in a better way. -enable the teachers to observe what kind of approaches are followed to prevent early school drop-out. Before and during job shadowing, the teachers will carry out the following activities; - observing the next good practice transfer, - monitoring the improvement created on the part of the students, - learning school environment, - being assigned at least to one teaching task in the partner school The results aimed at the project are as follows; - Participant teachers will have an opportunity to observe transnational education systems, - They will improve their education – teaching methods positively, - They will be tolerant to social and cultural differences, - They will increase their professional motivation and happiness, - This activity will be a step on the way of European Citizenship - The quality of the institution in terms of EU or International project preparation, application and observation will improve - More innovative and interesting education – teaching methods will be developed for students, - A highly modern, dynamic and professional environment will be formed at school and by integrating new methods and activities into the institution; these teachers will produce a synergy within the institution. Outputs: Good Practice Turkey Hand Book, TwinSpace network and Final conference. -
