The idea of the project is to create conditions for restoration of the salmonid stocks in the Lieksa, Tohmajoki, Hiitola and Lososinka rivers by means of research, planning and education.A new business model will provide a platform for commercial synergy of the companies operating in the timber, bio energy and construction industries in the programme region.The activities include developing a production basis in wood processing and house construction sectors in the territory of Republic of Karelia, creating an interaction model and its development between firms, increasing business volume amongst Kainuus and Karelian wood product branch companies by developing cooperation between these businesses in production, marketing and sales, particularly with regard to accessing export markets.
