The aim of the project Kulturmarksvård was to create or restore a viable countryside bythe coast and in the archipelago by increasing the activity within landscape management,thereby benefiting natural and cultural values as well as outdoor activities. The bestutilisation of this cultural landscape would be to combine production of food and biologicaldiversity as well as recreational, cultural and historical values. The project strove to developideas and solutions to improve the care and use of the landscape, for example regardingmeat from natural grazing, local slaughterhouses, marketing and procurement of animalsand grazing land. The project also provided assistance and training to new entrepreneursand businesses as well as courses about restoration of cultivated land.The overall objective of the project was to improve the local entrepreneurs possibilitiesregarding landscape preservation in the archipelago, and to provide information about thecultural landscape for purposes of tourism.Furthermore, one wished to increase cooperation between the project partners, local entrepreneursand other nature preservation organisations in the three regions.
