The idea of the project comes from the experience of years with sport activities with young people fromdisadvantaged areas – the participating organisations wanted to open new levels of the development of this field, strengtheningthe international dimension in their work. The aim of the project is to emphasize the importance of sport as a tool to promote healthy lifestyle, to reduce drug abuse and toemphasize the importance of respecting each other and respecting the rules. All these values are essential for a functioningcommunity as well as at local, national as at international level. This way the project will contribute to the social integration ofyoung people with fewer opportunities, facilitating their active involvement in the functioning of communities. The project foreseesdifferent non-formal activities (such as team building, ice breaking, cultural and intercultural activities) besides the sport andoutdoor activities which will help the participants to understand better what are the reasons behind different actions and how wecan live together and contribute to social cohesion despite our cultural and individual differences.Further objectives of the project are the following:Inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities; To emphasize the importance of active participation in the community with the respect for rules;Getting to know new cultures and people, strengthening intercultural dialogue, promoting values as cultural diversity, toleranceand solidarity, anti-discrimination and anti-racism;Promoting the advantages and educational aspects of non-formal activities, sport and outdoor activities;Promoting the Erasmus+ Programme as a tool in youth participation and in community development;Strengthening the partnership between the participating organisations. The expected impact of the project on young participants is the contribution to their social integration in their local community, andtheir sensitization about the respect of law and the respect for oneself and each other. The participants will develop skills andattitudes that will help them to become a responsible, full member of their community. They will get a picture on what it means tobe a European citizen, what rights and roles come with it and how we can build a sustainable democratic reality to live in. Thedialogue between the young people from diverse countries gives the opportunity to the people involved in the project to get closerto different cultures, which interaction can provide a broaden picture of 'being European', promoting cultural diversity, mutualunderstanding and the respect of each other despite the differences. Promoting the EU programmes will allow young people to beaware of their mobility possibilities, and will encourage them to actively participate not only at local level but also on internationalscope. Through the project we also promote the EU founding values as democracy, the respect of human rights, solidarity and therespect of law etc. which the participants can interiorize and share with their peers after their return, and which will also contributeto their social integration.
