The Centre of Excellence will be hosted by the Laboratory of International Relations and European Integration at the University of Macedonia, department of International and European Studies. Our proposal is divided to 4 parts: a) Research in Crucial Issues of European Integration, b) New Teaching in a very crucial and controversial Area such as Area of Freedom, Security and Justice (ASFJ) and one of its constitutive parts Racism and Xenophobia, and interactive activities such as Notebooks and Moot courts, c) Observatory of EU Constitutional Values with think tanking activities and d) Dissemination events such as round tables and Conferences, websites, social media, books, publications etc. Concerning our Research we have organised it in 5 Research Axis in Crucial Issues such as: a) EU in the International System : Security and Defense, b) European Economic Governance, c) EU Growth, d) Research, education and youth policies and e) Constitutional Values, Rights and Citizenship. All activities are centered on these research topics both for researchers, students (notebooks) and public (books and conferences. Each axis is directed by a thematic coordinator at the rank of Associate Professor or full Professor who later will edit the research books, mostly from University of Macedonia but also from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The coordinator will be assisted by a PhD researcher for the organisation of round tables and conferences or think tanking activities.
