Renewable Energy Scenarios in Islands
(RESI)
Date du début: 30 avr. 2011,
Date de fin: 30 nov. 2012
PROJET
TERMINÉ
The project has defi ned common strategies to overcome the gap which separates Sicily and Malta from the European average in the use of renewable, in particular, solar energy sources and in encouraging the transfer of technology and good practices. Furthermore, measures have been taken to compare and evaluate energy strategies from the environmental and socioeconomic view point as well as identifying and implementing an action plan for the greater diffusion of renewable energy. The project has created an environmental, socioeconomic data bank tied to the use of RES and a Renewable Energy Atlas, i.e. the mapping of RES installations and good practices in the Maltese territory and provinces of Agrigento and Ragusa. The exchange and diffusion of good practices also came about through two Renewable Energy Tours, aimed at presenting the most signifi cant renewable energy plants to university students and research workers. RES implementation strategies were also brought about by creating an Energy Forum, a workshop organized in a plenary session and four stakeholder groups (entrepreneurs, engineers, politicians, and citizens) and from which derived the territorial action plan for renewable energy. Lastly, a Renewable Energy Point exchange network among cross-border partners was set up in each territory to inform and heighten awareness on Renewable Energy Sources. • 1 territorial action plan on renewable energy • 2 Renewable Energy Tours • 1 Renewable Energy Atlas (reconnaissance of the most significant solar energy plants) • 3 Renewable Energy Point to encourage the spread of solar energy and related actions.
