PIJOLINS school is a school for training teachers and therefore it participates to life long learning programmes for Primary school teachers.
A foreign language is taught at every class level and several actions have been conducted or will be so to develop this teaching subject ( A foreign assistant is employed, some foreign students coming to the Teacher's Training Centre came and stayed at the school for several days years before , a whole school day wil be dedicated to languages in May during a European week in our area.
Going on with this work will consist in increasing the practical of English language by teaching other subjects in English such as P E ( Physical Education)( especially games) and litterature ( story telling).
Every class of the school is involved in this project and two teachers agree to attend a course in England recommanded by the Local Education Authority with the help of an organisation specialized in such courses ( SILC).
This course should give them the abilities required by the teachers national curriculum ( July 2013)
The selected activities ( Games in P.E. and story telling) will be planned all over the children's primary school attendance with aims developped according to the levels.
The teachers'mobility period will represent an important moment allowing classes to exchange with their teachers, especially upon the main subjects of the project.
The school Digital Work Environment will be used.
We are waiting for an impact and positive results upon different aimed at groups:
- The pupils should be motivated, involved and should develop language skills and be able to use them in situation.
- the teachers attending the course should improve their language skills. All the school teachers should use English more often in several subjects, using other ways and means to teach and using DWE as well.
- the parents should be more receptive and develop awareness of the importance of learning another language in Primary schools.
After a while, the use of the foreign language itself will be modified.
