Remote Controlled Arm Project

The objective of the project was to create pre-programmed and remote controlled models of robotic arm. The partnership was formed by 3 secondary vocational schools from Poland (coordinator), France and Turkey together with a Polish university and a Romanian Club of Children (non-formal educational institution). During the project all partners contributed their best knowledge and experience both during design and production stages. For that reason tasks were distributed among partners according to their skills and competence. For 2 years we have created prototypes of mechanical part of the hand, its steering system and technical documentation which might be useful for any institutions which have resources needed to produce their own hands. The majority of the mechanical part was produced in France and Turkey, the control system was created mainly in Romania, Poland and France while the design work was initially done in Poland, Turkey and Romania. Finally we decided to develop the concept created in Polish secondary school. Students were contributing at each stage of the project – making designs, producing and testing the software and hardware. The University created the web page with information about the project. We also took part in Innorobo 2012 in Lyon, showing our ideas to the visitors and getting a great deal of interest both from professionals and robotic fans.
