The project ''Remembrance - Totalitarianism in Europe and Historical Consciousness in a European Context'' (subtitle ''Improving Student Learning Motivation in History through ICT'') aims to establish an innovative strategy for improving student learning motivation through usage of ICTs while creating an informed historical consciousness and stimulating active participation of young people in democratic life in Europe. To achieve this aim, the participating organisations - Jurmalas Valsts gimnazija (Latvia), Birstono gimnazija (Lithuania), XII Liceum Ogolnoksztalcace im. Marii i Georga Dietrichow (Poland) and VIVES University College (Belgium) are going to: - exchange experiences and good practices between participating organisations regarding student motivation and usage of ICT - based methodologies; - develop and implement ICT - based approaches; - carry out joint blended learning and teaching activities. It is expected that as a result of this project participating organisations will: - increase quality of education in Europe by combining higher levels of excellence and attractiveness with increased opportunities for all; - develop more strategic and integrated use of ICTs and open educational resources (OER); - raise their profile and create new opportunities to extend the project and its results or develop new partnerships for the future; - show more active participation in society; - develop more positive attitude towards EU projects and EU values. The potential long-term benefits of the project include opportunities to extend the project and its results or develop new partnerships for the future, as well as an opportunity to transfer project results to a variety of subjects as approaches and methods developed during the project will be integrated into pedagogy of participating organisations and their management.
