REINTRODUCING THE OLD CRAFTS THROUGH THE ERASMUS+ PROGRAMME

The coordinating organization of the “Reintroducing the old crafts: building and furniture carpenter, wood carver” project is the Debreceni Szakképzési Centrum Povolny Ferenc Szakképző Iskolája és Speciális Szakiskolája, its intermediary organization the Association for Youth and Students of Partium, its hosting organizations are the Tibsil company and the Szabo Istvan family enterprise. The partners are successfully run the mobility project with LdV, entitled “Reintroducing the old crafts”, which took place in Baile Tusnad and Cristuru Secuiesc (Romania).The aim of the project is to offer a practical training possibility for 24 participants in the field of wooden industry (3 fields: building carpenter, wood-carver, furniture carpenter). The practical training will take place at two hosting institutions in two different locations: Cristuru Secuiesc (wood-carver, furniture carpenter) and Gheorgheni (building carpenter). The target group of the project consists of freshly graduated youngsters at different kind of woodworking specializations (secondary school, professional school or university degree) who can not find a workplace because of the lack of professional experience and people who have some woodworking experience but have lost their jobs.The project has many objectives: 1.offering the possibility of acquiring woodworking experience for the two target groups in order to increase their chance of employment and of affirmation on the Hungarian and European labor market, 2.contributing to the development of personal competencies of the participants, 3.developing the entrepreneurship of participants, 4. supplying the domestic labor market with highly skilled professionals. The results of the project are in connection with the set objectives: the participants will acquire exceptional working practice, through which their chance to find a workplace will considerably increase; the supply of wood industry’s labor market will be expanded with highly skilled professionals. The mobility will be realized in two cycles, at each cycle will participate 6 building carpenters, 3 furniture carpenters and 3 wood-carvers. The project consists of 3 phases: preparation (promotion, selection, organizing, preparation), realization of the two cycles (training, monitoring, continuing the preparation) and evaluation (evaluating the cycles and the project, dissemination, reporting). During the cycles and according to their specialization, the participants will prepare different examinational products (wood house, furniture, decoration elements) which will attest the competencies of the participants and will serve as dissemination products for the project and for the Erasmus plus program. At the end of the project we intend to organize a conference with dissemination purpose at which we will invite representatives of Non-Governmental Organizations, of the mass media, of educational institutions and people interested in our future training programs.
