Elaboration of an overall strategy for the development of tourism in the cross-border region. Through the setting up of a GIS database collecting data on attractions, services and other endowments, development of a comprehensive marketing strategy and specilized product plans, the ground will be laid for the elaboration of concrete tourism projects funded in the future Calls within the Programme. Achievements: The insistence on the strategic approach to development projects in the fi eld of tourism resulted in the elaboration of a comprehensive strategic document serving as the foundation for all the future development projects in tourism fi nanced by the Programme. The Regional Tourism Product Plan was the basis for the Third Call for Proposals, but it also serves as a reference document for all the tourism related investments in the area, being the only overall joint strategic document currently in existence.
