Red AZUL: New technologies for cultural heritage preservation

The Red AZUL project is based on the need to find a rapid, effective solution to the deterioration of the cultural heritage through the use of the innovative opportunities offered by new technologies. The project's initial aim, therefore, is to compile all existing know-how on the use of new technologies for the preservation and restoration of the cultural heritage (movable and immovable property), analyse training needs and set up a technological innovation observatory in the field concerned. The products will be: a report presenting the partial results of the study of innovative technologies and how they can be adapted to cultural heritage preservation; a website; a database of available resources; publication of a study on training needs and the definition of job profiles. The principal beneficiaries will be those involved in the preservation of the cultural heritage and introduction of new qualifications, training bodies, universities, technology institutes, centres for research on cultural heritage preservation, public authorities and businesses (in particular SMEs) engaged in the sector. Indirectly, the project also concerns young people and women seeking new skills.Dissemination will mainly take place through a network in which all interested parties at European level can participate.
