TERMINÉ
In Europe, we currently use 16 tonnes of material per person per year, of which 6 tonnes become waste. Although the management of that waste continues to improve in the EU, the European economy currently still loses a significant amount of potential 'secondary raw materials' such as metals, wood, glass, paper, plastics present waste streams. In 2010, total waste production in the EU amounted to 2,5 billion tons. From this total only a limited (albeit increasing) share (36%) was recycled, with the rest was landfilled or burned, of which some 600 million tons could be recycled or reused.
Just in terms of household waste alone, each person in Europe is currently producing, on average, half of tonne of such waste. Only 40 % of it is reused or recycled and in some countries more than 80% still goes to landfill (source: Environmental Data Centre on Waste, Eurostat).Turning waste into a resource is one key to a circular economy. The objectives and targets set in European legislation have been key drivers to improve waste management, stimulate innovation in recycling, limit the use of landfilling, and create incentives to change consumer behaviour. If we re-manufacture, reuse and recycle, and if one industry's waste becomes another's raw material, we can move to a more circular economy where waste is eliminated and resources are used in an efficient and sustainable way.
According to the Communication "Towards a circular economy: a zero waste programme for Europe", turning Europe into a more circular economy means:
-boosting recycling and preventing the loss of valuable materials;
-creating jobs and economic growth;
-showing how new business models, eco-design and industrial symbiosis can move us towards zero-waste;
-reducing greenhouse emissions and environmental impacts.
PROJECT GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The project "Recycle Art" addressed to 50 young aged 20-30 aims to:
-Incentivise waste reduction and high-quality separation by consumers;
-Create markets for recycled materials (standards, public procurement);
-Develop a circular economy;
-Create social enterprises of recyclers;
-Train youth people in the field of reuse and recycle art.
ACTIVITIES
The project consist of: preparation, implementation, training, project management monitoring and controlling activities;
These activities aims to ensure: a proper project management, young people engagement in the project and future advances in the project.
The informal training will develop partecipants abilities and knowledge. and will provide them a basis (theorical and practical) for further studies or job opportunities. By woorking cooperatively they will acquire:
- a better understanding and fluency in english as second language;
- communication skills;
- inclusive attitude;
- entreprenurial attitude.
The training will last 7 days and it will be organized in 5 modules:
-Recycle and Reuse;
-Reuse of plastic
-Reuse of paper
-Reuse of cans
-Reuse of glass
-Reuse of clothes
-Working with Other
-Starting your Creative Reuse Center
The first day partecipants will be received by the lead applicant staff, they will receive information, support and materials for the learning experience.
Finally, they will have the opportunity to take part in a multicultural experience sharing knowledges, ideas and experiences in a group of peers, confronting each other and devoping mutuality.
Training Methodology: the training methodologies will enphasize informal learning, and will use group work, case studies and simulations. During the training partecipants will receive feedback on learning achievements, support by tutor and trainers, and will be assessed formally and informally on acquired skills and competences. Final assessment will provide data for learning achievements recognition in ECVET.
The training activity will be lead by the Coordination team, all the project partners will take part in the activity. Project partners will ensure recognition of learning achievements and the use of ECVET.
RESULTS AND IMPACTS
The project impacts on young people will be:
- an enhanced interest in the field of energy waste, recycle and reuse;
- the creation of job opportunities that will endorse young people's skills and abilities;
- networking in Europe;
-development of an intercultural attitude and peacemaking abilities
The project partner organization will take part in an innovative education activity and will have the opportunity to:
- create network around Europe;
- share best practices, ideas and methdologies;
-create a basis for further advances.
