Group discussions would be mediated between the participants and the public. They will also use the non-formal technics to approach the public of the festival to share their experiences and opinions. Background of the project: The European election in May 2014 made obvious that the European citizens did not experiment their rights & duties according to the rate of abstention. Instead of consolidating the power of the European Parliament and their voice in the process of democratic decision-making, Europe’s citizens decided to vote for euro-sceptical or radical right-wing parties and against the idea of a multicultural European Union. European civil society doesn't seem to understand the benefit of EU policy measures and feels that their needs do not find a political response. Underpinning European solidarity means also encouraging a vivid dialogue and to face old wounds of our common history. In this sense, the results of the European Elections witness that ancient fears and discrimination resentments are still alive. Objectives of the project are the following: 1. To raise awareness about cross-cultural citizenship on different levels (personal, local, communitarian, national, European and global) 2. To promote an intercultural dialogue of social workers (18-35 years old) in Southern Europe and the Balkans 3. To use the social function of the Video as a tool to express cross-cultural citizenship in a creative and innovative way 4. To learn how to share his point of views on cross-cultural citizenships in the context of one’s own cultural background 5. To learn how to produce a short movie in order to re-use it into professional context as a tool to provoke an intercultural dialogue 6. To produce 8 short documentary films Expected Learning Effects: The expected learning effects are : - the ability to maintain an intercultural dialogue around the topics of cross-cultural citizenship, solidarity and mutual understanding - the capacity to write fictional scenarios for filmmaking linked to the cross-cultural citizenship - the qualification to produce short documentary films (preproduction, production and postproduction) Applicant organization: Pistes Solidaires Mediterranée is a non-profit organization working with popular education mesures and encourages sharing knowledge, competences and best practices.
