Ready to start?
Date du début: 1 févr. 2015, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The project “Ready to Start?” was focused on the importance of including youngsters with fewer opportunities in our international summer projects in Vienna. During a period of 2/3 weeks, our volunteers were working and living together in a foreign country with a group of volunteers from all over the world where they had the chance to discover new people, cultures and realities. The international subprojects we ran were: “Äktschn im Park” (Vienna) 11th July – 1st August: The aim was to practice integration through the renovation of some parts in famous park in Vienna by doing different hand- works like planting trees, taking care of the old ones, rebuilding new zones. Participants were working and guided by local gardeners. “Let´s Act” (Vienna) 2nd to 22nd August: The focus of the project was on a theatre play, which was written and performed according to the fantasy of the participants. The common aim was the presentation of the end product in the context of a final event. The theme of the play dealt with different topics such as exclusion, integration, tolerance and anti-discrimination. Besides the theatre-playing, the group made some renovation work in the Augarden. “Jewish Heritage” ( Vienna) 15th to 29th August: The topic of this project was the restoration of the Jewish Heritage in Vienna city. The volunteers were renovating a part of one Jewish graveyard in the 18th district of Vienna, that is more than 200 years old. Apart of the restoration activities they took part in different workshops and got inputs on the Jewish History in Vienna. Apart of the working activities, our volunteers had workshops on different topics as inclusion, integration, Human Rights, etc., as well as free time activities. This project was prepared by an Advance Planning Visit with the involved our sending partners in order to prepare the volunteers better for their time in Vienna and for Grenzenlos to get to know the concrete profile of the volunteers attending the activities. Beside the short-term evs volunteers who were granted by the “Ready to Start?” project, we also hosted 5 short-term evs volunteers coming from Solidarités Jeunesses, Concordia and Compagnons Bâtisseurs (France) and UNA Exchange (Wales) and who were part of our inclusion strategy in our 3 subprojects-activities.
