Project Description The current school’s project is designed to improve the qualifications of teachers, in association with educational mobility of teaching staff in the field of the school education. The organization needs improving language learning in school, developing quality of educational services and international activities. Objectives of the project: • improving the qualifications of the teaching staff; • upgrading and modernizing techniques in teaching foreign languages at a higher level of training; • application of European practices; • integrating language learning with studying other subjects (information technology, music, art, history, geography, etc.); • creating links with teachers from Europe, exchanging experiences and practices; • having opportunity for future partnerships with schools in the country and abroad; • sharing experience after returning to the native country by organizing seminars and creating Material Resource Bank . Number of teachers: 4 Profile of participants First participant: A young teacher having qualifications in teaching English language at primary school whose basic aim is to develop her oral fluency and generating self-confidence in speaking skills. ‘’Developing Oral Fluency in the Primary English Language Classroom’’ is a two-week course for teachers working with children 4-11 years. Second participant: An ambitious teacher qualified in teaching English at primary school. The selected two-week course for this participant is “English Language Development for Teachers’’ which is provided to develop her individual language skills and fluency through discussion. The course introduces an awareness of technology and ICT in the classroom today through the Multimedia lessons. It also exchanges pedagogical knowledge in a multi-cultural context. Third participant: A teacher with great experience at primary school teaching but less in teaching English language. The course is “Using Technology, Music and Drama in the EFL Classroom” and combines teaching the Four Skills, Art, Education, Music and Technology in the English classroom. Forth participant: A teacher with a 9-year experience in teaching English language at primary and secondary school /until 8th grade/. At present the participant is a teacher of students in the high school. The 2 week course ''British Institutions, Language and Culture'' relates to the needs of developing teaching the Four Skills, Culture, British Institutions and Media which sessions are based on the practical rather than the theoretical study. Description of activities: Mobilities involve learning programmes of British, culture, language, institutions and media. Activities encourage participants to express themselves fluently and to transfer theory into practice in realistic situations. Lesson are effective, stimulating and enjoyable, which is the best way to learn and improve. During the courses, participants are given the opportunity to practise and improve their English Language skills, enhance their vocabulary and expression and refresh their teaching techniques and approaches. Courses provide plenty of new practical ideas which should be taken back home and used in the classroom. In addition, mobilities introduce different aspects of traditional and contemporary British culture which the participants may not have encountered before. Anticipated impact: The courses consist of workshop sessions delivered in a friendly and informal atmosphere. Participants are expected to be co-operative and productive and are encouraged to share their experiences and ideas with others. The various modules of the courses are organised thematically and cover wide-ranging topics such as gaining a greater awareness of intonation and phonology patterns, colloquial English for the language classroom, areas of language according to an analyses of needs. They develop Teaching the Four Skills, Art, Education, Music, Technology, Culture, British Institutions and Media, among others. These sessions consist of Presentation, Practice and Production stages with the emphasis on the practical rather than the theoretical. In the last week of the course, participants are given micro-teaching assignments. On the final course day, they are required to teach a lesson lasting about 15 minutes using authentic materials from everyday sources such as media, household, restaurants, shopping, theatre, travel etc. They are encouraged to incorporate modern, web-based technology into their assignments to make them relevant and up-to-date. To this end, preparation sessions are set aside during which participants can explore new and innovative ways of teaching their lessons.
