Date du début: 4 mai 2015, Date de fin: 3 août 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

At CIRIUS Kamnik we are raising, educating and training physically disabled children, youngsters and young adults. We have been observing for some time now that students have difficulties in entering the labour market upon finishing their schooling and also difficulties with social integration in general. In response, we have started to develop a program of further training to prepare our students for work, greater autonomy and independent lives when they leave our centre after many years. This is achieved through training in modules, which are suited to the interests of each individual. We are encouraging them to develop their strengths and to use their time creatively. In this regard, we have started a tutoring program, which provides support and help in building a social network in the local environment after the schooling program is finished. With attendance in study visit: »Different opportunities: methods of working with young people with special needs, to improve their chances of finding work living a full live« we want to obtain new knowledge about the content and methods in the field of useful knowledge for young people with special needs. We are interested in the actual content and innovative work methods in modules as well as in methods of creating connections with companies to ease the entry of young people into the labour market. We would also want to improve the practical use of english language among the participants in the project. There will be seven attendants in this study visit, all of them involved in additional training program (a teacher and a professional associate on the project, the director of the Centre, the leaders of modules phototeraphy and social entrepreneurship, and two tutors, social pedagogues employed as educators in different groups of students). We will visit the EPA (Escola profissional de Aveiro) school, which is involved with the education of students with special needs in an innovative way, CERCIAG organization that deals with special education and has a "resource center" for integration and "resource center" for training and employment with a residential area and a variety of activities and work invested towards support in home environment. The ASSOL organization is supporting people with disabilities in finding employment and is providing them with assistance before, during and after the employment process. While touring this organization, we will also visit some of the companies that employ people with special needs. The project will be carried out as a study visit with presentations of individual organizations, discussions and answers to our specific questions. We will organize a workshop where we will think and debate about the common characteristics of the visited institutions and where we will try to establish guidelines for further cooperation and successful transfer of good practice model into our environment. Partner organisation will gain insight into model of good practise in the field of phototherapy (photography for people with special needs and all the adjustments we have developed in our Centre). Of this project, we expect to acquire new knowledge about informal practices of working with young people with disabilities to ensure their greater employability and social integration. We plan to incorporate these lessons into the process of creating new modules regarding the program of additional training that will result in increased personal and professional self-esteem among the participants and allow them to develop intercultural awareness and to upgrade the practical use of the English language. Long-term goal of the project is to provide a higher quality of training in our organization, to establish a permanent partnership in the field of youth exchanges and to raise awarness on opportunites offered in the european youth programme Erasmus plus.
