TERMINÉ
The project "Raising your voice through debate" is an youth exchange initiated by members of European Club in Strzelno and the Youth Council of Dąbrowa Commune. Polish participants invited to project their peers (aged 13-17 years) from Romanian and Spanish partner organizations. All participants are linked by their active attitude and desire for personal development and a wish to have an impact on what is happening in their towns. The reason why the young people from Strzelno and neighboring Dąbrowa have started this project was the desire to acquire new skills in an international group of peers. Young people from villages and from small towns equipped with these competencies more likely will engage in social activities not only at the level of their town, but also on the regional and international level. All partners were involved in preparation of this project. The variety of project activities is the result of all partners’ ideas. The project includes several elements characteristic of training, seminar and, above all, youth exchange. During the exchange youth will integrate and create a team that will be able to work together. During intercultural learning workshops participants will strengthen an attitude of tolerance and curiosity about other cultures, discover similarities and differences and give up stereotypical thinking. In addition, participants will develop and acquire a range of competences in the following fields: the learning process, time management, effective communication, organizing and conducting debates, public speaking, creative problem solving, communication in a foreign language and teamwork.By exchanging practices used by partner organizations, participants will learn about new opportunities of engagement in social life and they will define common goals. These objectives will be achieved through the use of interesting methods, such as integration games, simulation games, Actionbound, role-playing, exercises in pairs, group work, discussions in focus groups, tournaments, debates, film presentation, brainstorming, presentation in visual form, interactive methods of evaluation or evaluation using Badgecraft. There will be organized the public debate "Youth has no influence on the decision-making processes in their towns" with invited authorities and decision-makers.Young people will be able to use skills and attitudes gained during the exchange to represent their groups in youth policy. There will be an opportunity for participants to present new skills during debates organized in their schools.Young leaders can make the local youth more resourceful, enterprising, active, attractive on the job market. Stereotypes of rural youth with fewer opportunities will be overcome. Establishing contacts by young people from different countries will facilitate the development of future international cooperation.
