Raising awareness on Social Rights and Inclusion by using Social Media
Date du début: 8 janv. 2016, Date de fin: 7 août 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Fast development of technology and information systems plays important role in lives of young people. This accelerated change on internet and new media also obligate the youth organizations to be actively involved in new media in order to reach their target groups. Unfortunately, while being active on internet and social networks, young people are facing Hate speech and other negative consequences of social media. This TC is developed for youth leaders and youth workers willing to explore and learn about the main concerns on social inclusion and marginalization and how to use audio-visual and multimedia tools for promoting inclusion, sharing information and advocacy regarding marginalization of young people in online and “offline”/everyday life communities. The core activity of the project is 8 days long TC. It will be organised in the youth hostel in Novi Sad, Serbia from 31st May till 8th June 2016. Project will gather 33 participants, trainers and staff from 13 organisations and countries (Germany, Serbia, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo* UN resolution, Poland, Greece, Spain, Bulgaria, France, Romania and Cyprus). There will be at least 20 participants with fewer opportunities. Objectives:• Reflecting and exchanging opinions about inclusion/exclusion and social rights in different European countries• Achieving common understanding of different aspects, concepts and values of youth work and/for inclusion, including learning about social rights, social inclusion and obstacles with different reference points: employment, discrimination, racism, diversity, xenophobia, poverty, access to education and training, quality services etc.• Defining our target groups of youth with fewer opportunities and exploring needs and consequences of socially excluded (youth) groups around us, in order to be able to improve situations towards more inclusive society• Exploring existing policies on Fundamental/Human Rights in Europe and understanding their connection and implications to youth work for inclusion/social rights in our countries• Empowering youth workers for social media campaigning for further increasing participation of young people for advocacy on social rights for equal opportunities and inclusion • Discussing and understanding how EU social inclusion policies influence our countries being members of EU or having (potential) candidate status to EU and how we can use those in social media campaigning for inclusion and social rights• Creating specific social media campaigns and action plans to be implemented on local levels after the training course• Introducing Erasmus+ Youth in Action programme and the European Youth Foundation and developing new projects and future European level cooperation among partners with the topics of social media and/for inclusion and human/social rightsTC is based on the pedagogical understanding of the Council of Europe and the European Commission Partnership Programme and our own experience and expertise in youth work for inclusion and intercultural acceptance. As the training materials we will use SALTO booklets, T-kits, Compass, and different EU policy/programmes information. The TC will follow the NFE approach, principles and methods and will be based on participants' experience and exchange. All partners will be involved in preparation, implementation and evaluation and follow-up phase and activities during the project, while the preparation team of trainers, facilitators and staff will be comprised of experienced youth trainers and youth workers from applicant and partners from Germany, Serbia and Croatia.Project will have biggest impact on direct beneficiaries-participants who will further develop their IT skills in envisioning, preparing and managing social media campaigns for advocacy regarding exclusion, discrimination and marginalisation. They will further develop creative and analytical thinking of ways of active citizenship for development of inclusive society through development of quality local and European social media youth work projects for inclusion and social rights. We expect that at least 80% of participants’ will act as multipliers after the TC and develop innovative and quality inclusion social media youth work activities within their sending organisations and local communities. Through increased competences, capabilities and quality projects of participants and partners, we expect the increased knowledge and skills for young people in communities on advocacy and policy making. Also, we expect the increased involvement of non-organized youth and youth with different backgrounds by using new media and social networking. We expect to bring innovative approach and new practices on non-formal learning by taking opportunities of internet and multimedia and to contribute for quality development in youth work with guidelines and networking.
