Raising Awareness on Georgia’s Europeanization in Academia
Date du début: 1 sept. 2016, Date de fin: 28 févr. 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The proposed project aims to create a platform for discussion and to disseminate knowledge on Georgia's Europeanization both within academia and beyond it. Through the proposed activities the project will contribute to a greater visibility of the European Union subjects among the students and academics in Georgia, encourage an informed discussion and analysis of Georgia’s Europeanization process, as well as produce respective publications that will be also accessible for a wider community outside academia. Given Georgian population’s limited knowledge but constantly growing interest towards the EU related topics, especially among those in academia, we consider it crucial to support Georgia’s academic community in its efforts to advance their knowledge and engage in the discussions on European integration. In order to achieve this aim, the following objectives and respective activities are planned: - Conduct series of workshops in central and regional universities (total of 8 universities throughout the country) for BA/MA/PhD students and young scholars;- Create a discussion platform entitled “The EU Talks” for students and young scholars to share their perspectives on Georgia’s Europeanization. The talks will be organized per each target university;- Create an online video library with short video recordings based on the workshops and series of “EU talks”;- Publish selected papers from “The EU Talks” as a collection of papers, encouraging the young people’s further research on Georgia’s Europeanization;- Organize a final international conference with the participants from academia and governmental and non-governmental organizations;- Based on the conference materials, publish selected papers in the CSS’s international peer-reviewed journal “Caucasus Social Science Review”.
