The Radio Valo EVS project aims in increasing media production skills in Finland among people with learning disabilities. Two young volunteers will travel to Finland to work for two weeks with other adults with learning disabilities in creating programs for www.radiovalo.fi. At the same time the volunteers will learn skills in media production, intercultural skills, travelling and working indenpendently with support. The target group is people with learning disabilities and it increases visibility of abilities of this special minority. Lyhty ry, the hosting organisation, will provide a suitable working environment and professional help in creating audio and video programs for the internet channel. The skills in media that the young volunteers will learn in Finland can be used in Malta in their own media activities in Down Syndrome Association in Valletta.
