The Women Counselling Centre Oberpullendorf is an institute for education and guidance in a rural area with the aim to strengthen local individuals by support, motivation, orientation and offering new perspectives facing the ongoing social economic crisis. The wide range of our offer needs internationalisation, multifaceted education as well as the entanglement of competencies and skill of our staff. The project “Increasing quality by qualification” supports that development and professionalism, too. Together we developed the vision of a modern, internationally well linked organization that faces the needs of our society: to administrate international requests, to manage projects and realize ideas together with partners all over Europe. Social participation and learning competencies are building the basic for successful concepts of life and active citizenship. Institutes for education have to adapt their strategies and policies to create sustainable offers to focus on lifelong learning, social capital, formal and non-formal learning. These goals we want to reach with well planned learning experiences. New pedagogic concepts like outdoor education are necessary as well as competencies in foreign languages, international management or counselling with a focus on near-illiterate social classes or dropouts. Trainers and counsellors have to be prepared didactically and with empathy to offer non-formal learning, acknowledging and communicating skills and competencies. 11 staff members will widen their professional and social competencies while having intercultural meetings, collecting learning experiences, learning new teaching methods, improving their active citizenship, developing their own initiative and integrating the European dimension into their professional and private daily life: 1)adult educator, project manager, teacher for foreign languages; 2)social worker, psychosocial counsellor with focus on personal crisis and violence in families; 3)social educator, social adviser, coach; 4)career guide, project coordinator, trainer with focus on job application & curricula and ICT; 5)social educator, coach, trainer; 6)social worker, outdoor educator, trainer; 7)project coordinator, administrator and coordinator working in German, Croatian and English; 8)receptionist, secretary has to work in German, Croatian and English; 9+10)chair women are working voluntary in developing and conceptual design of our offers; 11)social advisor, career guide, trainer; Our aims will be reached by the following activities: 1. Language training in Ireland to get the Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) accorded by job shadowing to improve international management and project competencies 2. Job shadowing in London (Women’s Therapy Centre & Solace Women’s Aid) to increase competencies and finding enrichment by new teaching skills in psychosocial counselling for women and girls 3. Education in “German as a foreign language” in Germany (Institute TTI, Freiburg) 4. Job shadowing in Lower Saxony (VHS Lingen) for upgrading the organization of learning and teaching with focus on ICT 5. Workshop about „Education guidance for near-illiterate target groups“in Malta 6. Job Shadowing in Scotland (Institute for Outdoor Learning) to improve the competencies and getting enrichment by new learning methods in the field of outdoor education 7. Language training English Super Intensive in Brighton 8. Language training English Intensive in Galway, also to find first experiences about European dimension 9+10. Conference about "Basic education for near-illiterate target groups“ in Brussels 11. Job Shadowing in Germany to improve the organization of learning and teaching Each participant chooses her activity according to the personal need in competences as well as the organizations needs. The described actions lead to higher quality in our organization’s offer, support the institutional mobility, we are achieving innovation through learning and experience. Being staff members all the participants will be able to implement their new skills and competences to the favour of all our clients, networking partners and the whole area. Dissemination is given by public relations and publicity within our networks. By the help of international cooperation and more qualified project management we will create sustainable offers to implement lifelong learning, social skils, formal and non-formal learning as some of our core competencies.
