The PULSE project represents a continuation or, to be more exact a development of the project USE-IT, which was carried out by the association Info zona in 2013, as a result of a national youth initiative (Youth in Action) and with the support of the Croatian Agency for Mobility and EU Programme and was evaluated as an example of good practice. By implementing the project and creating the USE-IT Split map, Split became a part of the USE-IT Europe network (www.use-it.travel)which includes about forty European cities and which has numerous users not just in Europe, but in the entire world. The project attracted an extremely large number of young people and young volunteers were included in all its phases. Projects such as USE-IT demand specific knowledge and skills from the implementers and from youth workers in order to successfully implement the project. That is why the PULSE project is designed as an international platform for the exchange of experience and good practice which includes youth workers motivated to learn from the examples of good practice, not only when it comes to USE-IT, but when it comes to youth work in general as well. PULSE gathered 19 experts in youth work with different cultural background and from different parts of Europe, (Split, Zagreb Karlovac, Labin, Dubrovnik, Oslo, Viterbo, Calahorra, Constanta) from Croatian and other cities of the EU in order to exchange experience regarding youth work and including young people in projects and initiatives, as was the USE-IT project. Partnership organisations are acquainted with different methods and means of youth inclusion, as well as with dealing with needs and problems of young people. Ergo, all the participants - youth workers - acquired new knowledge, experiences, they were acquainted with examples of good practice and of the skills required in youth work. The main activity of the project was a training course for youth workers which was held in Split, 20.-27. April 2015. During the seven-day programme the participants acquired new knowledge, experiences and skills through nonformal methods which they can implement in their further work. In the networking phase, the participants were able to work on the carrying out their own projects, as well as using the ideas acquired during the training course. Through networking and international collaboration of youth organisation, we empower the role of the civil society in dealing with needs and problems of youth, we increase the personal and social engagement of youth in the society and we encourage the activism of youth.
