Our proposal constitutes an educational programme from 18/8/2014 to 1/9/2014 at the University “CDA COLLEGE” in Cyprus. Its theme is "Digital Innovation in Second Chance Schools (SDE): Distance Learning and Lifelong Learning using New Technologies, Innovative Training Methods, Techniques and Skills". The participants are 15 teachers of several specialities and fields who belong to the staff of the SDE KARDITSAS and perhaps similar schools. In order to overcome the difficulties of language communication, the education will take place in both the Greek and English language by professors (trainers) of high educational level. Also, language seminars will take place so that participants can interact in their social activities. The participants will find out new ways and methods to improve someone’s performance, their interaction, the benefits of the use and exploitation of current modern technological tools (Internet, E-Learning and Distance Learning) as well as the evaluation of all the factors in the school unit. The timetable of the work programme of the training is: a. THEORY • Management of school units, staff and students (18/8 ) • Communication methods (19/8 ) • Training methods - Comparison of Educational Systems (20/8 ) • Exploitation of the New Technologies (Internet, e-Learning and Distance Learning) (21,22,25 / 8) • Modern informative systems to monitor and evaluate a school unit ( 26,27,28 / 8 ) • Applications and good practices of innovative educational methods (projects) (29/8) B. PRACTICE In the practical level visits will take place to relevant schools, universities (public and private). Such schools are Educational Centres of Larnaca, the Technical University of Cyprus and innovative hi-tech companies. It is worth mentioning that the planning of the practical training is “open” to the wishes of the host organization. The supervising of the programme will be carried out by a 3-member scientific committee which will confer every two days. After the end of the course will be implemented a ceremony for the dissemination of this programme from the host partner (30,31/8). A relevant co-operation contract is going to be signed among the partners to guarantee the smooth completion of the programme, as soon as this proposal is approved, in which clearly all the commitments of each partner will be described. Every participant will submit a relevant questionnaire about the target and the level of the training as well as the experience and the impressions she/he gained at the end of the programme. She/he will also receive a diploma from the host organization which will prove his/her participation in the educational procedure and all other activities. Finally, she/he will be certified according to the Europass certificate. The programme will be promoted electronically at the website of the SDE Karditsas (http://sde-kardits.kar.sch.gr) and the Mass Media. Finally, we will organize after our return to Greece a ceremony for the dissemination of this programme to our school. The host partner has great expertise in programmes on the improvement of the quality and the appeal of the vocational education and training in national level. Its study programme includes teaching either in classrooms organized or in internationally recognized procedure of e-Learning and Distance Learning. It realizes European programmes putting an emphasis on teaching and methods in school units. It offers great experience in innovative teaching methods such as improvement of the learning with the use ICT . It will have the responsibility for the organization of education, which means to find trainers, the places of education as well as the organization of the timetable of the educational programme. The expected results and the impact of this proposal, are the promotion of the partnerships and exchange of experience in order to ensure quality, personal improvement on the part of the teachers, enhanced the added value of the school unit, the promotion of the European and International community ideal, the development of innovative content, services, pedagogical methods and practice of lifelong learning based on ICT.
