The project of Youth exchange entitled "The way to the man's heart is through his stomach" foresees participation of 24 students of Middle Schools (boys and girls) aged between 13 - 15 years from Płońsk (Poland) and Rejon Solecznicki (Lithuania). During the project the children will cook together, taste and explore the flavours of international cuisine. Indirectly, they will also explore the culture and traditions of their foreign friends and learn English. They will strengthen their ties and integrate with their peers, learn the rules of tolerance, solidarity and group work. During the meetings, which will be held once per month, children will implement specific actions, planned by themselves before the project starts. Each month carries a specific name defining theme of cooking - for example December is the month of Christmas, thus in the menu we will find the Christmas dishes specific for each country. All dishes along with the recipe, method of preparation, photographs and a short video will be posted on the culinary blog maintained by children. The main aim of the project is an organization of 2 youth exchanges, first one in Płońsk, second in Soleczniki Region, during which children will participate in culinary workshops jointly discovering together the Polish-Lithuanian cuisine.Furthermore during the project the children will elaborate various materials promoting healthy food, that will be distributed among their colleges from school and inhabitants, but also posted on the blog. The project will serve as a method of collecting the personal experiences of each participant on their culinary tastes and perception of the kitchen of foreign partners. On Facebook, which is used by the project participants from a long time, will be created a fanpage about the youth culinary exchange, so anyone willing will be able to try specific recipes. During the project the kids can connect with themselves, without any limits thanks to google hangout tool. It is also planned to use interactive whiteboards for the translation of the culinary textes to English. During the exchange Europass European certificate will be used, which allows to describe the linguistic skills needed when learning and working in Europe. Children fill the passport at the beginning of the project and at the end, to see what progress has been made in the understanding of the English through participation in the project. Moreover, among the planned activities will be: meeting of young chefs in Płońsk and Soleczniki Region with cooking in the city square, edition of the book with the most interesting recipes of international cuisine, workshops on healthy eating and organic food, excursion to the production facility in the region, cooperation with the Farmer's Wives Association and learning how to make for example - butter, common cooking in schools, bonfires, preparation of the corner of healthy food in schools, the practice in the school canteen, preparation of a healthy weekly diet for teens and many others. Thanks to exchange of youth the inhabitants of both towns will discover the cuisine different than their own, with its richness of tradition, history and flavours. Thanks to that they will awake the curiosity to further explore the world and other cultures. Children will get to know better their peers from abroad and make new contacts through modern online tools. Participation in the exchange will make the children will learn how important to their health is proper nutrition and taking care of proper selection of ingredients. They will be able to use that knowledge throughout their lives and teach their colleges and family about the importance of good eating habits. Blog created by the children can be used, and updated even after the completion of the project. Development of the cooking skills and preparing meals together will serve for better integration with other members of the household. Coordinating organizations gain new interesting experiences and skills that they can use in the implementation of new projects. That is the recipe for success!
