"The first internships abroad" (PSVZ) is a project prepared by the team of the Secondary Art and Technical School in Karlovy Vary in cooperation with partner organizations Lycée des métiers de la Céramique in France and scola Artística de Soares dos Reis in Portugal. The most important impulse for preparing this type of project was the preparatory visit of the headteacher and two art teachers from the French school, with whom the plans and implementation were discussed. The school has prepared the European development plan, where short- and long-term needs were defined. The main objective of the organization is to involve students and vocational teachers in international cooperation and enable them to intern abroad. The school has set the following goals:- the permanent promotion of the Erasmus + and other EU projects- improve language skills, including knowledhe of English for specific purpose- establish contacts with the staff of organizations involved in vocational education within Europe- promote the European dimension of school - make internships of foreign students possible at our school- organize internships for our students in partners´ schools- increase students´vocational knowledge and skills, tolerance and interpersonal competencies- use ECVET in recognition of learning outcomes of internships and define their contents- support teachers´ professional qualifications and integrate newly acquired knowledge and skills in the curriculum- motivate students to the greater involvement in vocational as well as general subjects for example foreign languages- increase school leavers´chances in the labour market as employees or self-employed- underline the importance of lifelong learningThe school has planned 18 students´ and 7 teachers´mobilities. Four students and two teachers of fashion design and photography will participate in iternships in Portugal and fourteen students and five teachers of porcelain and ceramic design in France. Internships will last 2-3 weeks for students and one week for teachers. All the students of ceramic, fashion design and photography will be able to apply for the grant if they meet entrance requirements, teachers- candidates have to teach vocational subjects and communicate in English. The project is planned for 20 months and divided in two parts: the first one is devoted to teachers´ mobilities and work with clay (modelling and shaping), the second one to students of fashion design, photography and ceramic and porcelain decorations. The school put together an implementation team, which consists of 4 people, the vicehead, coordinator, the head of ceramic commission and coordinator of the ongoing project ADOL. All professional requirements were discussed with vocational teachers who have significantly contributed to the preparation of the first units of learning outcomes and assessment questionnaires. Each member of the team is responsible for his part and the team as a whole will be responsible for the fulfillment of the predetermined objectives. The project has been realized in 4 stages: planning, implementation, evaluation and review., The first step has been completed by submission of the Application Form. The implementation and evaluation is described in the AF and the review will follow after the analysis of project´s results. Although internships are planned as short-term, the school expects these outcomes and impact:- enrich teaching of vocational subjects with new techniques for instance textile dyeing- understand the difference in processing, shaping, and decorating of porcelain and ceramics- deepen the language skills- use EU instruments - Europass Certificate Supplement,CV,mobility and ECVET for the recognition of learners´ achievements- increase autonomy, tolerance and students´ motivation- change in attitude towards the EU as an institution supporting education and cooperation projects- support of lifelong learningThe organization has decided to maximally disseminate the project´s results at local and regional levels and patiently explain to all organizations involved in the vocational trainings the benefits of engagement in international cooperation. It is belived that this type of mobilities attracts more students to study at vocational schools and allow hard-working, creative, purposeful pupils with average grades or handicaps, active involvement in the European education system and increase their employability. It is regrettable that the lack of information about EU programmes possibilities discourages local/regional employers to more engage in international cooperation in vocational education in spite of the fact they enable students´ professional trainings in their factories.
