Our Erasmus + project “European mobility of CEIP Torres de Balafia staff”, had as its main goal to be a beginning for the Europeanization of the center and have a look internationally, beyond our reality of small and rural school.
Our approach has always been directed to improve the competence of the English language in our students, as well as improving teaching competence in mathematics and our intention to include artistic and creative activities such as usual dynamic of the center.
The participants have been 4, which have undertaken 5 mobilities. The age of the participants ranges from 25 years to 52; two of the participants are part of the management team.
The activities undertaken have been training courses, the characteristics of which have been:
CLIL: there have been two formations in Malta to receive training on the methodology CLIL OR AICLE.
Mathematical competence: was done in Worcester (United Kingdom) a course of mixed mode - theoretical and practical classes and visits to schools - on strategies for teaching and learning of mathematics.
Art and Creativity: This course was held in Malta and also combined theoretical-practical exhibitions with visits to schools.
As a result of the activities we can emphasize teaching competence in mathematics and CLIL, which has made it possible to apply new techniques of teaching with the students having an impact on their level of learning. We have also learned how to enter artistic and creative activities in different areas in an integrated manner.
We highlight of the project, the fact of sharing what you have learned: people who have enjoyed the mobilities have been those that subsequently and in a training environment, have formed the rest of the faculty of the center.
The program has had an impact on our organization in that it has assumed a motivation to continue innovating and implementing strategies and teaching models where the pupils is the protagonist.
