Date du début: 1 sept. 2011,

Integration of Ukraine into the EU legal, political and economic areas is one of the priorities of the Ukrainian foreign policy. The EU considers Ukraine as a key pillar of the European Neighbourhood Policy and the European Partnership Initiative. However, quality of the EU-Ukraine cooperation suffers from lack of knowledge and expertise in European integration. Ukrainian academic, expert and wider communities need to be better informed about the EU and to contribute their expert knowledge to integration of Ukraine with the EU through EU interdisciplinary studies. The project is designed to fill in these gaps through establishment of the first Jean Monnet (JM) Centre of Excellency in European Studies at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine. The project’s outputs include the introduction of new interdisciplinary teaching activities in EU studies at undergraduate, master, postgraduate and doctoral levels in Ukrainian and English. JM Centre of Excellency will serve as an academic and educational centre and resource hub in European Studies in Ukraine and will promote teaching and research in various fields of European Studies at Ukrainian universities. The project will impact enhancement of expertise in EU law, European political studies and European economics among students, academics, experts and civil servants in Ukraine. The objective of the project is to promote interdisciplinary teaching and research in area of EU Studies in Ukraine.
