Date du début: 15 août 2015, Date de fin: 14 janv. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The 40 participants are both youth with special needs and people with fewer opportunities who do not have the possibility to enjoy equal participation in other actions. The youth will be accompanied by 30 caregivers and helpers. The exchange program is going to take place in Cyprus. The program has taken its name from the Titan of the Greek mythology, Prometheus, who has enormously contributed to the development of the human civilization. The choice is not accidental. On the one hand, the name of this mythological hero denotes a thorough planning of an action or an event before its completion. On the other hand, Prometheus has significantly contributed in the development of the arts and the sciences by stealing the fire from the gods and giving it to people to equip them with the necessary tools so as they are not unprotected, barefoot and unequipped compared to other creatures. Having this allegorical name in mind, our goal is to become “Titans” in our ability to equally distribute the opportunities to the youth with fewer opportunities, such as people with special needs and other vulnerable groups of youth. Our purpose is the creation of opportunities for the young people from the “fire” of knowledge and the proper training; to teach them new self development techniques, to cultivate their knowledge of sciences and arts. In the same way as Prometheus has found the necessary techniques, the medicine and the herbs to face the crises related to the Pandora’s box, we are aiming at giving young people opportunities to interact, to learn to give solutions, to face any crises regarding practical issues and other issues related to education, livelihood and human resource management. Furthermore, it is said that the original cataclysm myth was devised by Prometheus and we believe that the programs Erasmus+ Youth in Action are a modern ark that provide young people with multiple opportunities within the economic, the social and moral “cataclysm” of our contemporary era.
