Projects, purpose and approach in voluntary youth work

The project "Projects, purpose and approach in voluntary youth work” was built between KVT Finland and CID Macedonia. KVT Finland was the sending and the coordination and CID Macedonia the hosting organization. Three youth workers from Finland were sent to Macedonia to explore the local youth work and the socio-cultural reality. The project aimed to develop the capacity of the youth workers in volunteer management and social inclusion projects. The objectives of the project were: • To increase the understanding of our youth workers / leaders about the European level projects and especially how to make educational projects in Erasmus + • To introduce our leaders of workshops, trainers and other staff to social - educational project development, management, implementation and evaluation (especially focusing on evidence based needs analysis); • To reflect on purpose and approach used when engaging volunteers in youth work • To provide our youth workers with the theory and tools necessary to design, implement and evaluate effective youth work training programs within Erasmus+ • To improve competencies in youth work development using European programs and tools at the local level By completing this mobility our participants are be able to plan, identify funding sources and manage successfully the implementation of educational projects (ie. such projects can be the development of new curricula, going European in our work, developing eCourses, finding new targets, clients, areas, partners etc). The following key areas were be explored as part of Project: Design and Management: Project Cycle, Project identification, Project Formulation and Appraisal and Project Implementation; Logical framework Approach, Monitoring and Evaluation, Funding and financial management. Also our participants were able to reflect on the different purposes and approached used in youth work by analyzing projects, systems and current knowledge in this field.
