Professionnaliser le tourisme rural

The agricultural sector today needs to diversify. Farmers and those living in rural areasare witnessing an increasing interest among tourists, and in the last few years haveseen the possibility to cater to a growing market for rural tourism.The PROTOUR project aims to meet the potential of this situation by:- Setting up a long-term operation with early planning – designing and implementing anonline exchange platform for rural tourism.- Involving the local population from the outset by setting up local study groups involvingfarmers, developers, project managers, trainers and institutions.- Fostering a habit of cooperation between the project partners.To respond to these needs, the PROTOUR project partnership aims to build a trainingtool to “professionalize” these actors on the ground by providing training in activities andskills necessary for rural tourism operators. We would achieve this aim through:- Different stages – reflection/analysis/design and application of the envisaged teachingsupports.- Implementing a map and summary to characterise rural tourism.- Preparing reference materials for activities and skills.- Designing curricula and training tools.- Training experience.- Disseminating and enhancing the results.
