The project "Professionalization of teaching staff" of the katholiek scholencentrum JOMA aims to improve the international learning mobility of individual members of staff. The keywords are ICT competence, international project management and innovation of the teaching of modern foreign languages. The project "Professionalization of teaching staff" combines the priority of ICT-in service training during the school year 2013-2014, both as internal and external workshop, with the focus on trainings on foreign language teaching by native speakers in the cultural environment of the foreign language ànd also the aim to include the school, its staff and pupils in an international cooperation within Europe. The number of participants is initially small, but we anticipate a growth as we will gain expertise on the management of projects and as the results and the impact of the learning mobilities will become clear all over the school through evidence and new impulses from the participants. Expectations are that the participants will spread positive experiences and that they will be able to integrate the results of their learning mobility in their everyday teaching practice. The participants will embed their newly acquired ICT skills in their lessons. The lessons will become more challenging for the learners. The participants will also introduce new methodology into the school. They will foster their easy access to foreign partner schools and foreign learners. That way the persistence of the eTwinning cooperation will be assured and authentic language assignments - the mainstay of the current innovation of foreign language teaching - will be accomplished. Finally, with their competence as project manager, the participants will create opportunities for collaboration in a strategic partnership (Key Action 2), thus combining ICT and language skills of both trainers and learners in a practical cooperation project with a European dimension.
