Professionalisierung von angehenden Fachkräften durch europäische Mobilität
Date du début: 1 juin 2016, Date de fin: 31 mai 2018 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The Project ProFAdeM (professionalisation of future practitioners through European Mobility) targets trainees in the field of auto mechanics as well as future early years teachers in their second or third year of training who are about to graduate. All of them have gained first professional experience in their respective fields of work and are thus likely to better assess newly acquired knowledge and skills and compare them with existing ones. The respective mobilities, split into four flows over two years, are an integral part of the respective training courses enabling the participants to absolve certain training units abroad. Here we mostly rely on existing cooperations with receiving organisations in Denmark (auto mechanics) and Ireland (early years teachers). The 20 participants of this project will integrate in existing work procedures using their previously acquired knowledge and skills, they will get to know new and different approaches to work and above all will gather experience working in international teams and using their foreign language skills (English). The two-week mobility for automechanics will include attending lessons in the international classes of the college, task-based learning together with Danish trainees in the school-based workshops as well as training placements in selected local garages. The whole mobility will be monitored by an experienced teacher who will also evaluate progress made during the project. The mobitities targetting future nursery school teachers consist of four-week to five-month-placements in different day nurseries and Montessori preschools in Dublin, Ireland. Here the participants are given the opportunity to actively participate in the daily routines of the childcare setting, to implement pedagogical processes, to explore observation and documentation procedures and to carry out little projects under the supervision of an experienced practitioner. We envisage that the above project will lead to an increased motivation concerning the future job as well as increased personal, social, intercultural and language knowledge, skills and competencies facilitating the professionalisation process and thus opening up careers within multicultural Germany or another European country. Our long-term objective is to increase acceptance of European mobilty as a means of professionalisation on the part of the training companies as well as the trainees. We expect this will result in increasing mobility after graduation among those having taken part in the project as well as raising awareness of European mobility as a means of professionalisation and making it an option for a greater number of trainees and apprentices.
